Most Private unstructured owner-managed organizations including Public Educational Intitutions operate salary regimes that are out of tune with current economic realities and the fortune of the organization.

Before an employee stakes his/her life on an employer/ Organisation, responses to the following check list of questions are imperative.
1. Is the organization unionized?
2. How does the history of the organization’s salary review look like?
3. Does the salary and emoluments match the responsibilities and qualifications of the employee?
3. Are the total emoluments competitive or comparable with the industrial average
4. Is there sufficient time allowance for side (private) business.
5. Do the policies of the organization suggest that her leadership has serious and sincere consideration for the future of the employees?

Where the answers to the five questions are in the negative, the employee could well sit on the fence, and upgrade his/her skill in preparation to seize better opportunities elsewhere.

Being contented with half bread could block an employee’s access to a full loaf.
